Equipment You'll Need:

Tape Player RCA to Mic audio cable Up to date Computer
(preferably newer than this one!)

Software You'll Need:

Audacity
(or any sound-editing software)
Wingogo
(or any mp3 encoding software)

PART ONE
(copying the audio to your computer)


STEP 1
Connect the RCA end of the cable, to the back of the tape player.

STEP 2
Connect the Mic end of the cable, to the back of the computer.

STEP 3
a-Queue the tape to the beginning of the sermon
b-press the record button in audacity
c-press the play button on the tape player

STEP 4
The waiting game.......you now have oodles of time on your hands.
As long as the sermon is, you'll be waiting for step 5!

STEP 5
When the sermon is over, press stop on audacity, then stop the tape.

PART TWO
(editing the file)


STEP 1
Trim the extra sounds off the file, for example:
-sounds before the preacher begins to talk
-invitation song after lesson

 

STEP 2
Save your file

STEP 3

-Open Wingogo (download it from above if you don't have it)
-Drag & drop any files that you've copied from tape into the wingogo window.
-Click "begin to encode" (this converts the wav file to mp3 file)
-It will let you know when it's finished with a "bing" sound
-Click "ok" 3 times, then you're done!

 

At this point, you are ready to burn your file to cd!
Use which ever cd-making software you have, the hard part is over!
